This CE lesson progresses from shared vocabulary to system-level understanding and culminates in claims-relevant application. It first establishes why roofing terminology matters for accurate communication among agents, adjusters, contractors, and homeowners, then builds a precise lexicon of common roof features through definition and visual identification. That vocabulary is subsequently organized into an integrated roofing-system model, emphasizing component functions and how assemblies differ across low-slope and steep-slope configurations. The instructional arc concludes by mapping the re-roofing sequence to measurable outcomes—leak prevention, structural integrity, energy efficiency, longevity, and warranty compliance—so participants can evaluate documentation, ask higher-quality questions, and support more defensible coverage decisions.
